2. Expiry and Validity

2.1 All Gift Vouchers issued by Artbid are valid for three (3) years from the date of issue, unless:
(a) a longer period is required by law; or
(b) the voucher is a promotional or complimentary voucher that is expressly identified as having a shorter expiry (permitted under the ACL).

2.2 The expiry date is stated on the Gift Voucher email or digital record. The voucher expires at 11:59 p.m. AET on that date.

2.3 After expiry, any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be redeemed, refunded or reinstated.

2.4 No activation, account-keeping or inactivity fees apply.

3. Redemption Procedure

3.1 Gift Vouchers may only be redeemed by emailing contact@artbid.com.au with:
(a) the Gift Voucher code;
(b) the Recipient’s full name; and
(c) details of the artwork the Recipient wishes to purchase, or the applicable auction invoice.

3.2 Artbid will manually apply the voucher credit once the details have been verified and the voucher is confirmed as valid and unredeemed.

3.3 Voucher credit is applied against the eligible purchase price only. Redemption is not completed until Artbid confirms, in writing, that the credit has been applied.

3.4 If the purchase price exceeds the voucher balance, the Recipient must pay the difference using an accepted payment method.

3.5 Partial redemption is permitted. Any remaining balance remains available until the expiry date.

3.6 Artbid may refuse redemption where it reasonably suspects fraud, unauthorised use, error, or security issues.

4. Auction Redemption Conditions

4.1 Gift Vouchers may be redeemed towards eligible auction purchases, subject to the following:
(a) they may be applied against the hammer price and buyer’s premium;
(b) they cannot be applied towards shipping, packing, insurance, handling, or any third-party charges;
(c) they must be requested and applied before the auction invoice due date;
(d) confirmation of redemption must be issued by Artbid before payment deadlines.

4.2 Auction purchases remain subject to Artbid’s Auction Terms and Conditions. In the event of any inconsistency, the Auction Terms prevail to the extent permitted by law.

5. Limitations and Exclusions

5.1 Gift Vouchers may only be used for artworks that are available for sale at the time of redemption. Artbid gives no assurance regarding the future availability of any artist or artwork.

5.2 Gift Vouchers:
(a) are not legal tender;
(b) cannot be redeemed for cash;
(c) cannot be used to purchase other gift vouchers;
(d) cannot be used for shipping or third-party charges;
(e) cannot be applied to purchases made outside the Platform.

5.3 Artbid may decline to redeem a voucher where doing so would breach applicable sanctions, anti-fraud policies or legal obligations.

6. Transferability

6.1 Gift Vouchers are fully transferable unless expressly stated otherwise.

6.2 Artbid is not required to verify the identity of the Recipient. Possession of the voucher code is deemed authority to redeem.

6.3 Purchasers and Recipients are responsible for keeping voucher details secure.

7. Lost, Stolen or Misplaced Vouchers

7.1 Lost, stolen, deleted or misplaced Gift Vouchers will not be replaced, refunded or redeemed unless:
(a) the voucher can be located in Artbid’s internal system; and
(b) Artbid confirms that the voucher has not previously been redeemed.

7.2 Artbid is not responsible for:
(a) unauthorised redemption caused by loss, theft or misuse;
(b) delivery errors arising from incorrect information provided by the Purchaser.

8. Refunds, Returns and Consumer Guarantees

8.1 Gift Vouchers are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by the ACL.

8.2 Where an artwork purchased wholly or partly using a Gift Voucher is returned or refunded in accordance with the ACL:
(a) any refund attributed to the voucher-funded portion will be issued as an equivalent Gift Voucher credit;
(b) no cash refund is provided for any amount originally paid using a Gift Voucher.

8.3 Promotional or complimentary vouchers have no monetary value and cannot be refunded.

9. Liability

9.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artbid is not liable for:
(a) lost, stolen or unauthorised use of a Gift Voucher;
(b) technical or system issues preventing redemption, provided reasonable efforts are made to resolve the issue;
(c) indirect, consequential or special loss.

9.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or guarantees under the ACL that cannot lawfully be excluded.
