Blending texture, abstract expression, and traditional Lippan art, Abhishek Halwe creates distinctive pieces that evoke depth, cultural richness, and understated modern luxury.

Abhishek Halwe is a contemporary artist and founder of Artistic Glimpse, a Melbourne-based studio specialising in textured art, traditional Lippan techniques, and abstract expression.

His work is driven by a unique, vision-led approach—often beginning with an imaginative perspective on the subtle beauty of the world, interpreted through texture, form, and depth. Drawing from Indian heritage craftsmanship and contemporary design sensibilities, he creates artworks that balance cultural richness with modern refinement.

Each piece is carefully layered to achieve a sculptural, dimensional quality, allowing light and texture to interact dynamically within a space. His artworks are designed not only as visual statements, but as immersive elements that enhance the mood and identity of interiors.

Through his practice, Abhishek bridges tradition and abstraction, creating distinctive pieces that evoke warmth, curiosity, and a sense of quiet luxury in modern living environments.

Artist Interview
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

My process usually begins with the space the artwork is intended for. I consider colours, lighting, and mood, then build layers gradually—allowing the piece to evolve organically through texture and form.

Tell us a bit about your story and how you came to be an artist

My journey as an artist began with a natural inclination towards creativity and a deep appreciation for design and aesthetics. Over time, this evolved into a focused exploration of texture, form, and material. I was particularly drawn to traditional Indian Lippan art—its simplicity, craftsmanship, and ability to transform surfaces into something expressive and alive. As I experimented with these techniques, I began blending them with contemporary abstract styles, allowing my work to evolve into something more personal and distinctive. What started as a creative pursuit gradually grew into Artistic Glimpse, where I now create artworks that reflect both my cultural influences and my perspective on modern living. My work continues to evolve with each piece, guided by curiosity, experimentation, and a desire to create something truly unique.
