Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

I primarily work with acrylics on canvas, often incorporating texture mediums. Acrylics give me the freedom to layer and experiment with depth, colour, and organic forms. Their versatility allows me to capture the energy and fluidity of nature in a way that feels both spontaneous and controlled.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

My process begins with inspiration drawn from natural landscapes , forests, sky, rivers, and coastlines. I start by layering colour and texture, letting intuition guide the flow of the piece. Gradually, forms emerge, and I refine them until the painting reaches a balance of harmony and expression. Once complete, I prepare the work for exhibition with professional finishing touches, photography, and presentation.

Can you tell us a little more about your creative working environment/studio?

My studio is a light-filled space in Perth, close to the coast, where I feel most connected to nature. I often work on large canvases laid out across the room, with music playing softly in the background. It’s a space of freedom and focus where I can fully immerse myself in the creative process and allow each painting to evolve organically.
