Artist Interview
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

My work begins with a clear visual idea, supported by loose sketches and reference. I move quickly into painting, allowing the image to develop through layered oil work. The painting evolves through reworking, adjustment and pause—refining light, colour and form until it feels balanced. Once resolved, the work is documented and prepared for exhibition.

Tell us a bit about your story and how you came to be an artist

I began pursuing painting seriously in 2002 under the guidance of Sydney artists Sarah Mufford and Anwen Keeling. Figurative art quickly became the central focus of my practice. Branching out recently into floral art.
