Jane is a Geelong based artist who’s work varies from semi realistic, slightly naive beach scenes to colourful, abstract landscapes.
She is a big believer that colour and nature are amazing influences of our thoughts and moods and that art can be a great daily reminder to smile and to look for beauty in the everyday.
Many of Janey’s paintings represent connectedness, celebration and the power of nature.
Her mind often escapes to another place while painting and she hopes that her work can be meaningful to anyone, anywhere in the world and that it takes the viewer to places of happiness and simplicity.

Artist Interview
How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
I am mostly inspired by life around me… the ocean plays a big part in my work and my whole being. I tend to collect a lot of photos and colour inspiration, and build a collection from there. It's a fairly loose process, and often comes out of nowhere… it's slightly chaotic until the end!
Tell us a bit about your story and how you came to be an artist
I officially launched my art career in 2019, just before Covid, after selling my small homewares business. Which unbeknownst to me, was the most fortunate timing to start. I was approached by Greenhouse Interiors which was a great launching pad for my art journey. I have since developed my work greatly and have had the joy of seeing my art applied to products and featured on magazine covers. But the greatest joy of all is seeing my work in peoples homes and knowing how much they are loved.
