Skye LaRocca is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist who explores the intersection of nature and human emotion in the digital age. As technology rapidly evolves, she examines how these shifts impact our physical and social landscapes. Her work delves into the complexities of ego, knowledge consumption, and our ever-changing understanding of the world. Using vibrant colors, she creates abstract pieces that reflect our interactions with the artificial and digital environments we now inhabit.

Artist Interview
What medium do you work with, and why have you chosen them?

Acrylic and Aerosol, the fast-drying nature of both mediums combined with my minimalist approach leaves little room for error and allows for a very meditative practice.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?

The concept of a body of work always begins colour first, followed by extended research and always with an intense focus and obsession during the creation process. As a curator as well as an artist, works are almost always created with the physical exhibition space in mind. My most recent works are created to be experienced in person and not digitised.
