I am Steve, an artist working under the name Scuba, based in Parramatta, Australia. My practice combines acrylics, oils, spray paint, and paint pens to create works at the intersection of pop art, abstraction, and minimalism.
Im Scuba, based in parramatta. Influenced by city life, geometry and science fiction. I use mixed media to create bold contrast in abstract pop art with a minimalistic feel.

How does your artwork get from initial concept to exhibition stage?
I have aphantasia so I source objects that I find interesting and let the paint evolve through feeling rather than visualisation.
Tell us a bit about your story and how you came to be an artist
Have always had a love for art and colour. I qualified for an art scholarship during highschool but circumstances dictated i was unable to accept. Instead I followed a career in construction as a rigger. Never losing my love of art I returned to painting with a renewed passion, bringing with me new influences of city and industry.
